Presale for May of 2024

Overwintered nucs are our survivor stock bees with a established bred queen in a five frame cardboard nuc that have survived the winter. The most important part of starting a new colony is having a great queen and we won’t sell it until she has proven herself. These queens were bred in late summer and are ready to become “producing hives”. Our bees live in Western New York year round and never leave.

These nucs have two frames of honey/pollen essential for hive growth and two are growing brood (baby bees). The last frame is left open for the hive to build on and expand. This is the only way we can offer a nuc in the month of May! For now, quantities are limited but once spring arrives we will know better how many can be available so make sure to check back when we sell out!

We will know if the queen bees are still thriving and ready to sell when the weather breaks. We will contact you when spring arrives, to schedule a pickup time.

We believe in selling high quality bees. We are so confident in our product that our nucs now come with a guarantee! If you have a problem within 2 weeks of receiving your nuc, we will either replace or fix the problem at no additional cost to you.

Price is $220 per nuc with two non-refundable options of payment:

1. Put a deposit down ($120) now and pay the remaining balance at pickup ($100)

2. Pay in full ($220)

*We cannot ship the nucs - this is a pickup by appointment only.*

Pickups are weather dependent, but we always shoot for the end of May. These are created colonies of bees, not packages. They will not be sold unless we have given them approval of a well laying queen and brood pattern. We pride ourselves in our work and can’t rush the bees, so patiences is key for a quality product!

Need some equipment to go along with your bees? We can help! Check out our equipment and kits that you can purchase online, or at pickup when you get your nucs.
